Just like there are many athletes who play for the love of the game. Many of us writers do this because it’s the only way we can express ourselves in a world full of people who want to silence our voice. Most people read books that never challenge their biased world views and shallow self-endorsing thought processes. Writers get to challenge themselves and readers too. It’s a fun way to learn and grow more mentally without having to get into confrontational arguments that will most likely occur. I am an expert debater and a fairly competent chess player. Intellectual discourse is exciting almost arousing for me. Most people don’t crave the same kind of intellectual stimulation so I find myself feeling like I am on an island. Through reading and writing I can identify others who are just like me. The love of writing has also grew a love of travel and exploring new things in me.
