The Death of Monogamy

Online you see the word incel, gets thrown around like it’s nothing. We live in a society where wanting a traditional monogamous relationship like the ones our parents had will get you labeled everything but a child of God. Young men have been catching nothing but backlash online and offline for wanting heteronormative family dynamics. The new age relationship is one in which everything is fluid. Many people are now opting for gender fluidity where nobody has set roles. Its all do what you feel on this day. Non hierarchical polygamy in which none of the partners hold priority over others. With so much chaos and confusion in the world, why should we expect our relationships to have structure? Monogamy has never been perfect as many people traditionally men were cheating more than half the times in the past. In present day women might be more likely to cheat than men due to the ease of acquiring partners online. This opinion is me ranting on the death of monogamy. I have always been a hopeless romantic never experiencing the romance that I desired. This is a grievance me letting the world know that the reason why I could be ace is because I know that I am never going to get what I want out of a romantic partnership. It barely exists in our fake world of social media and instant dopamine hits. Sincerity doesn’t exist and compassion makes you look weak. Nobody is genuine and everything and everyone is a performer. I have been invited into polygamous circles several of times. I smell good and look good. But no amount of self improvement can manifest a healthy long term monogamous relationship. This post is for all those who are in the same boat. You’re not alone.
