The Problematic Romance Dilemma

I am currently reading a really good action romance book. It has everything that makes you not able to put it down. As a novelist I can say the author is a better writer than I am. However there’s a problematic element. One of the main characters forces consent and the other character is okay with it. If one is a 6’7 Viking descendant then consent is optional. Thats the message. The author is a woman. So yes there’s a double standard. Most guys need to worry about consent and mutual agreement. But for the top 1% everything is for the taking. Most men have been fed a bunch of fairy tale nonsense but the dynamics of the market are the same in fiction. If you’re a black man you’re going to prison for a decade if you’re over here pinning a woman against her will to anything talking about “You’ll be mine.”. But Connor Viking can do as he pleases. This article is nothing against that literature or anything I just made this article to say that we’re all on a different playing field as men. The 50 shades of Grey type of love that many women ache and yearn for can’t be carried out. Especially not in America due to moral and legal conditions.
